Danielle Kitson

Project Coordinator

Danielle is a Project Coordinator in IISD’s Resilience program. She is the point person for the Climate Adaptation and Protected Areas initiative, overseeing key activities and day-to-day operations.

She brings a wealth of experience to the role, including work as a technical advisor with the United Nations Environment Programme on ecosystem-based adaptation in Kingston, Jamaica, and as a marine conservation associate with The Nature Conservancy’s Caribbean Marine Biodiversity Program. In these roles, she provided technical and scientific support, including the design of indicators and strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of ecosystem services. Danielle also managed relationships with NGO partners, supporting their work in marine managed areas, fisheries, resource management, and community engagement.

She holds a master’s degree in Natural Resource Management (Marine & Terrestrial Ecosystems) and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology from the University of the West Indies (Mona).
